Pangea Mathematics Competition

Students in Years 4 and 5 participated in the Pangea Mathematics competition which is held in 18 countries in Europe. Our school participated through the UK chapter. About 6,000 students were registered in the UK . Only 165 students qualified for the finals and 6 of our students successfully made it too! There were three from Year 4 - Simone Persson (100 marks), Leo Kaiser and Maria Lapinski (both got 88.5) and three from Year 5 - Om Jagtap (100 marks), Ayman El-Essawi (88 marks) and Charlotte Umbach (87 marks) and hence travelled to London, where the finals took place on 12th May.

The final three winners were chosen from each year. We are proud to announce 2 of the 6 International School students successfully stood on the victory platform!! Simone Persson won the third prize from Year 4 category, winning the bronze medal and a cash voucher of 75 British Pounds. Om Jagtap from Year 5 bagged the first prize from the Year 5 Group. He won the Gold medal and a cash voucher of 150 British Pounds. We are very proud of our students for confidently representing our school and making our school’s name known to all!!
